Life is a journey. We all want to level-up and reach the best possible version of ourselves. But the reality is that every day we mostly experience the same repeating pattern. We are stuck in a prison of our existence where we dream to escape from.

We may feel challenged at home, work, love, creatively, but then there are these 1 or 2 things in our life which hold us back. We know what they are, and before we address them we cannot move forward, or so it seems. "Everyone has at least one big thing that stands in the way of their success; find yours and deal with it" (Ray Dalio). Life is like a video game, we are stuck in a level and can't move forward.

We have to identify the problem, design a solution and get to a result. Why does this problem exist, which emotions are we feeling and why are we feeling them? Pressfield believes that “resistance” is our greatest enemy and suggest some ways to overcome it. "Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands resistance."

The resistance is a dark place, where we are vulnerable and we feel stuck. When we face our fears we train our minds and develop strength. This shows us new insights about ourselves and our surroundings. The great thing about conquering our fears is that when we do, or make small steps towards it, our minds reach a new plateau.

Let's call it our new mental paradigm. This allows us to level up and realise our full potential. We learn that behind fear there is nothing and we can do anything we put our minds to. When we resolve our resistance, we can also better face those we have strong feelings for.

When we are in love, we idealise the other and we put them on a pedestal. They lose interest because we don't see them for who they are. When we attack our resistance, we change the pattern and these same people we fell for, suddenly have a different importance to us. We are less intimidated by them. We've grown less dependent. We can now meet them at the same level, as equals.

Love conquers all, but only if we first conquer ourselves. As our minds grow, we create new mental patterns and see those around us with fresh eyes. We understand ourselves better and feel more in control. We communicate at a different frequency and can share more beautiful experiences with those around us. Be someone who makes it a better ride for everyone.
